Of Errors and Truth - Part 1 - Chapters I, II and III

A classic work by Louis-Claude de Saint-Martin, the Unknown Philosopher, first published in 1775, provides the framework for his doctrine that later became known as Martinism.

The translation into Portuguese was made based on an electronic copy of the original in French from 1775, for this reason it includes all the subtitles at the top of the page of that copy, which makes its reading more directed and focused on certain themes of its vast range of exposure.

In this first part of Saint-Martin’s great Oeuvre, the dear reader will have access to Chapters 1, 2 and 3; a division that the researcher will also find interesting because it equally divides the study of Martinist doctrine into distinct phases of understanding.

In addition, the translator, Charles Lucien de Lièvre, includes a Practical Martinist Supplement in which he describes a mystical exercise for inner development and in which he details and explains all the benefits and difficulties that any serious and dedicated seeker encounters in his initiation journey. This supplement will serve as a way to encourage the individual practice of their mystical ascesis in the retreat and silence of their Individual Sanctuary or Oratory.
