Book 'Transgressões Cerâmicas'

'Transgressões Cerâmicas' is a selection of 73 visual artists who transform contemporary ceramics in Brazil. Through their artistic research, they are responsible for raising questions, drawing attention to important causes and positioning ceramics in its deserved place in the fine arts.

The result of a partnership between the companies Artenz Consulting, Subsolo Laboratório de Arte and Tauá Cerâmica, the publication presents its content in English and Portuguese, with a unique design that sought to enhance each of the works presented.

With a preface written by Cayo Vinícius, the publication also includes a series of other texts:

• 'This is not a book about ceramics' written by Andrés I. M. Hernández, the project's curator, the article discusses the appreciation of ceramics in art, the project's curatorial experience and the importance of the works presented by each artist.

• 'Ceramists are big-hearted people' by Cris Rocha, the creator of Transgressões Cerâmicas, tells about her trajectory in ceramics, the difficulties and pleasures of being a ceramist and how the idea for the project came about.

• 'Heloísa Alvim's Profile'. The article written by Regina Rocha Pitta tells the story of Heloísa in Brazil and abroad, following the steps that made her an artist recognized around the world.

• 'Norma Grinberg and her transgressions since ceramics'. Known as one of the most prominent Brazilian artists, Norma has her story narrated in this interview-text written by Andrés I. M. Hernández, evaluating the importance of her work in Brazil.
