Altered Scale - Studies

Anyone who studies improvisation knows that when we're starting out, applying this scale is difficult, both in terms of execution, visualization, and sound.

I started preparing these studies while I was teaching in India at the Swarnabhoomi Academy of Music (SAM).

This first e-book contains two studies, and each of these two studies has 7 phrases developed across the entire guitar fretboard. The phrases are based on the famous ii V I, where the V contains the application of the altered scale.

The goal is not just to learn it as a lick, but to use it as a "hook," that is, to serve as a stimulus for other variations, new ideas, other paths, etc.
