GENKI I – Lesson 2 An Integrated Course in Elementary Japanese

English

Lesson 2

In Lesson 2, students learn how to form basic noun sentences in Japanese, including affirmative, negative, and question forms. The lesson introduces key particles such as の (possession/affiliation), も (“also”), and か (question marker). Learners also study demonstratives (これ/それ/あれ and この/その/あの + noun) to refer to people and objects.

Vocabulary focuses on nationalities, majors, occupations, everyday items, and numbers. By the end of the lesson, students can identify and describe things, express affiliation, and exchange simple personal information.
