Animals live in many different places called

habitats. A habitat is a home where an animal

finds food, water, shelter, and space to live.

Some animals live in forests, others in deserts,

oceans, rivers, grasslands, or mountains. Each

animal chooses a habitat that is just right for

them—for example, fish live in water, birds live

in trees, and lions live in the savanna. Every

habitat is special and helps animals survive.
