Lakam Há The city of the sacred river of the Maya
For decades, visitors walked over the crypt of K'inich Janaab Pakal II at Palenque without knowing what lay beneath it. In 2016 it was confirmed: less than two meters below runs a natural stream of water, and the pyramid was built around it. This book follows that river from the ancient name of the city, Lakamha', "the place of great waters," down to the jade mask and the tablet that some called a spaceship.
