Pixel Art Studio for Blender

English

Pixel Art Studio is a Blender add-on (plugin) for pixel perfect pixel art texture painting. It supports drawing and painting pixel art inside Blender, in the 3D Viewport on top of the model (in Object and Edit modes) and in 2D in the Image Editor. It has tools for drawing and painting (including colors, palettes, layers, pressure sensitivity, bucket fill, gradients), selecting and moving pixels, and quickly setting up the model and the viewport for pixel art. The plugin also helps with setting up and managing multiple texture densities per mesh, allowing for uniform pixel sizes across the whole mesh or per face pixel size variation.

Every drawing, selection and layer tool works in the 3D Viewport and in the Image Editor, in perspective and orthographic views, so you can move the camera around freely while painting.

- Pixel perfect drawing tools: brush/pencil, eraser, path and polygon (bezier curves, filled polygons), line, rectangle, ellipse, bucket fill (by pixels, selected faces or color), blur, gradient (with dithering), opacity, color picker, pressure sensitivity. Pixel size stays constant at any zoom.

- Pixel selection: rectangle, ellipse, lasso, magic wand, invert. Works in 2D and 3D, and selected pixels can be dragged across the model's faces.

- Pixel grid overlay in the 2D and 3D viewports.

- Mirror and symmetry drawing in 2D and 3D.

- Color swatches and palettes, plus a library of 500+ predefined palettes.

- Layers with locking, grouping, merging and visibility toggling, like in painting programs.

- One-click pixel size and density setup with presets, plus texel density detection for existing meshes.

- One-click viewport setup (grid and snapping matched to pixel size) and UV unwrap for instant painting (note: auto unwrap is basic; most models still need manual UVs).

- Density Zones (optional): assign texel density per face for uniform or per-face pixel sizes. Blender's grid auto-resizes as you hover faces in the 3D viewport.
