Reverse Tapping
Reverse tapping is a technique created to extend sonic possibilities of the traditional tapping technique based on reversing the position of your hands on the fretboard.
First of all, let me explain WHY I came up with this:
When I was in the process of writing my first album, Insight, I was really into practicing 4 finger tapping licks with my right hand, but I quickly realized that would be very very hard to balance up the control I have with both hands, since I had been playing for 5 years with my left hand only.
Then I realized that when us guitar players use the tapping technique, all the fast licks are played on the lower notes, with our left hand, and just tapping the higher ones.
Then it made me wonder: what if I invert my hands, tapping on the lower notes, while the more elaborated phrasing is now on the high register, and with that, I ended up discovering a variety of new sounds I could come up with using Reverse Tapping.
