SDX Random
Audit sampling is used to provide factual evidence and a reasonable basis to draw conclusions about a population from which a sample is selected.
According to the IIA (The Institute of Internal Auditors) when developing the work program, internal auditors generally consider the risks of the area or process under review.
The work program is based on the objectives and scope of work. It typically includes resource application plans and describes the techniques or methodologies that will be used for the work being conducted. If the test plan details are not sufficient, internal auditors may need to provide additional details on the tests, such as test criteria and population, initiation methodology and sample size needed to obtain sufficient information and also provide evidence of impartiality.
Working papers usually document sufficient information about the analyses, results and method to allow the reader or reviewer to understand the work basis. Working papers also typically describe the test population, testing process and test coordination method that internal auditors use.
Also, the IIA says that a basic format for workpapers should have a description of population evaluated, including sample size and method of selection used to analyze data (testing approach).
The SDX Random is an excel tool that provides a simple method of sampling selection demonstrating impartiality by the auditor in accordance with the IIA standards.
The SDX Random includes:
- Instructions how to generate a Random Sample Selection;
- Search for previously generations to check the history;
- Export the Random Samples Generation into a PDF file;
- Also you can copy the Results to your work papers in order to demonstrate impartiality.
