Importance of Anchorage Control and Biomechanics

English

Anchorage control is one of the most important factors for the succes of an orthodontic treatment.

After the exact diagnosis, depending on the anchorage need, we should decide to use the right devices and mechanics.

The invention of the mini implant has carried the quality and the limits of the orthodontic treatments far beyond the expectations. Today many types of mini implants can be used at different places of the jaws for several reasons (intrusion, uprighting, distalization, expansion, mesialization, etc.). In addition the selection of wires in terms of the material and the design also affects the anchorage in a positive way.

Nowadays, clinicians have various treatment modalities using different arch wires; posted hooked, looped or springs. In this presentation, the importance of mini implant usage combine with proper mechanics (DKL, T loops, uprighting springs, etc..) and its factor for the success will be shown. To get the stable and functional occlusion, we have to combine what we have.
