The Humidity Harvest — Water From Thin Air
A Peltier thermoelectric device creates a cold surface below the
dew point. Atmospheric humidity condenses on that surface and drips
into a collection tray. The device costs $12. The water costs
nothing.
Three countries have moved to classify atmospheric water extraction
under water rights legislation. The global bottled water market
generates $283 billion annually. U.S. municipal water utilities
collected $73 billion in 2023. Neither industry has a distribution
incentive to tell you this technology exists.
The physics have been documented since Roman engineers built dew
collectors in 300 BC.
