West african traditional Singing Cours with Salifou Camara

English

West African Traditional Singing Course with Salifou Camara Is An Approximation of the Memory of Guinea

Under the guidance of Salifou Camara, a native of Kamsar, Guinea Conakry, and son of a Griot mother from Firia, we begin a path of learning that honors the lineage of the traditional "guardians of the word." This course proposes a respectful approximation of a part of the Susu culture through 4 selected songs, recorded in a unique collaboration between Woumufatama and El Llamado del Tambor directly in Guinean territory.

Methodology and Pedagogical Rigor

To ensure a deep understanding of this legacy, Salifou guides us through the breakdown of each piece via a system of educational videos that include:

Song Context: The origin, history, and social purpose of each work.

Rhythms and Pulse: Understanding the rhythmic relationship that sustains the melody.

Precision Onomatopoeia: A specialized method to integrate ancestral phonetics and oral tradition.

Trilingual Translations: A bridge of meaning between languages for full cultural comprehension.

Access Schedule and Heritage Protection

To honor the learning process and protect the intellectual property of our masters, access to the material is progressive. During the initial 7-day trial period, only Song 1 will be fully available with its 4 pedagogical videos. Song 2 and the rest of the repertoire (Songs 3, & 4) will be automatically released each week after your registration, once the respect for the process and content security is consolidated.

Woumufatama awaits you: tune your listening, honor the root, and be part of the bridge with Salifou Camara.
